+- cinematography absolutely furthers the themes of obsession, the subconscious, anxiety
+- we just forget about midge? she was his only anchor to reality so it makes sense thematically, but story-wise she's just gone without a trace
+- the dream sequence is my favorite part of the film
+- story drags a bit 3/4ths of the way through. and judy's final moments are screen are jarring, with seemingly no setup
